Theresa | 2 comments I am reading House of Hollow House of Hollow by Krystal Sutherland , reading and watching the Apple TV adaptation of Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus Lessons in Chemistry. Listening to Night Side of the River by Jeanette Winterson Night Side of the River.
Last but not least as I try to accomplish every year, The Christmas Chronicles Notes, Stories and 100 Essential Recipes for Midwinter by Nigel Slater The Christmas Chronicles: Notes, Stories and 100 Essential Recipes for Midwinter.

The surprise is Lessons in Chemistry. I never thought I would enjoy that book but I am being proven wrong. The adaptation is good as well.

Julie M (woolyjooly) | 314 comments ooh . . I am trying (really hard) to read Marlon James' " The Book of Night Women" which has been on my shelf for 6-7 years. Might have to hibernate this one. November is already depressing enough!

My listening to The House of Doors by Tan Twan Eng The House of Doors was curtailed when Libby returned it an hour earlier than I expected last Sunday. So there's a l-o-n-g list to get it again so I moved on to the next book that would have to be returned The Court at War FDR, His Justices, and the World They Made by Cliff Sloan The Court at War: FDR, His Justices, and the World They Made only to have it returned an hour earlier than what my computer was telling me. (I think both had to do with the time change last weekend.) And, again, there's a list for that one.
So, I moved on to Banned Books The World's Most Controversial Books, Past and Present (DK Secret Histories) by D.K. Publishing Banned Books: The World's Most Controversial Books, Past and Present which was a quick listen and I was able to return it to Libby on my terms.
Now, I'm listening to The Dyslexic Advantage (Revised and Updated) Unlocking the Hidden Potential of the Dyslexic Brain by Brock L. Eide The Dyslexic Advantage (Revised and Updated): Unlocking the Hidden Potential of the Dyslexic Brain.
And, I'm mindful that any audio I secured before the time change may disappear an hour early.

C. John Kerry (cjkerry) | 117 comments Had to go down to Victoria for an operation and took two books with me
One which I finished was The Canadian Heavyweight Title The Canadian Heavyweight Title The Complete History 1978-1984 by Andrew Calvert . This was a somewhat thin book so I got it finished.
The second one, which I had read a bit of already but want to finish and get it off my currently reading shelf was The Van Rijn Method The Van Rijn Method (Technic Civilization Saga, #1) by Poul Anderson a collection of linked science fiction stories by Poul Anderson. Not quite half-way through but it is rather thick book.

What Remains by Wendy Walker What Remains was gripping couldn't-put-it-down read. Now on to Murder Your Employer The McMasters Guide to Homicide by Rupert Holmes Murder Your Employer: The McMasters Guide to Homicide which is mentally stimulating with wit and word play, but who doesn't like Pina Coladas, oops, I mean Rupert Holmes.
