Dan | 256 comments Greetings fellow Lycans. Please nominate (here at this topic) up to two werewolf books we have not yet read that you believe would make an excellent group read for all of us. As soon as we have at least four books nominated by at least three different members I will run a poll in order to determine our next group read.

Per the first message titled in the "Purpose of the Group" topic found here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/..., none of these nominations are titles we would consider reading. I realize that perhaps as many as 75% of modern werewolves readers, especially younger ones, are into the subject purely for romance and interpersonal drama with alpha male beefcakes. They may not even be aware of the horror aspect. But that's not this group. Sorry. Please feel free to look over our bookshelf for the types of werewolf stories we're into.

These all look excellent. Thank you for the nominations.

Actually, since these are the only nominations, I think I will just go with them and make them each a group read for the month.

So excited to see what everybody thinks of these! There's great variety in these three:

Lover is the most fantasy-driven, parts reading like they were taken out of a Grimm's storybook. Wehrwolf is a brilliant middle ground, the tale being imbued with realism by its historical setting and detail. Big Bad might be the most "fun" of the three--set in modern day and character-driven--the fantasy elements are woven seamlessly into this surprisingly domestic story.
