Lauren (idobereadin) | 1 comments I have put off reading Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes but have just started it since the movie somes out this month, but it got me thinking about what some other stories are that I'd like to read.

I think Finnick is a very popular choice, being that he was the youngest to win the games and has a lot of secrets on some of the Capitol's most important citizens. Pair that with his tragic love story and heroic death, I definitely think he would make a good spin off book.

Personally, I would LOVE some more backstory on Haymitch. I know we get a good glimpse of his games in Catching Fire, but I want to read about his descent into alcoholism and his torture year after year with dying tributes. I know he says in one of the books (CF I think??) that the Capitol killed his mother, brother, and his girl. I think Haymitch is one of the strongest characters in this story and to get more history on his life starting the day of the reaping and ending after Katniss's first games would be so cool.

I think some people might say Mags (who I'm sure would be touched upon in a Finnick story), Joanna, Annie, or maybe even POV from Peeta's time being captured and tortured by the Capitol. While I think reading about
each one of these people would be captivating, I don't think Suzanne would write anything unless it added to the overall story of the Hunger games (which is why I think Haymitch or Finnick might be the most popular answer. They both gave a lot to the series and understanding their POV might make the original books have a deeper meaning).

I'm sure these stories won't be written, but then again I didn't think we'd ever get another HG book and now the movie for Ballad of Songbirds is coming out soon, so who knows. Anything is possible (possible not probable, I like to say lol). While I'd love to read the stories, I think even a series on a streaming service would be cool, with each episode an hour and based on different characters. Of course if that ever happened Suzanne Collins would have to lead the writers, but I think that could be a successful idea.

So what do y'all think?? A series of short stories on each character, a book on a specific character, or a show? Which one and why?
