I went to get Wonderstruck from my bookshelf and it wasn't there! I had The Invention of Hugo Cabret and The Marvels, but not the book I needed. I could have sworn that I had a copy of it.
Luckily my library had a copy. Anyway, it's in my hand now and I'm ready to read :)

I have to admit I don't really care for stories with two timelines. I always wonder how the author is going to pull them together.
I don't know if you're familiar with The Invention of Hugo Cabret or its movie, but this book seems similar. An orphan boy, all alone in a big city, searching for... something or someone.

That picture sent my brain into overdrive! Who? Why? With what?

I was glad I had read this comment before starting, so I was prepared. I'm used to books that cross timelines, but not like this one! The saying 'a picture is worth a thousand words' has rarely been more true than it is with this. Especially when I consider what the author is trying to convey.

I'm also wondering how the author is going to pull this together. I'm beginning to see a lot of parallels, though I wonder if it's just the way my brain is wired - based on a linear flow of logic/data - and I'm just grasping at straws to make things make sense.
I really like the two MCs. Their stories are very compelling; heartbreaking and tragic. And at such a tender age, too.

I found that I had a tough time deciphering what the author was trying to get across. There are so many more clues that I'm used to picking up from the written word. I had to go back to the pictures a few times to look for clues.

I agree. The two MCs really caught my attention and heart. The author did a great job portraying their trials.

Jamie just told him that he didn't call his aunt/uncle because he wanted him to stay and be his friend, and he learned that the bookstore moved.
I'll likely finish the book tonight. I'm deeply engrossed in it. It's really good. I need to get a copy or two for nieces/nephews!
