I'd like to read the Timothy Keller one with you :) I've read a good bit by him and definitely come away with a greater understanding of anything he writes about.

Thanks, Crystal. I have a bunch I'm trying to finish right now, so I won't be able to start until around Dec 15th.

Buddy read threads created for both A Cross-Country Christmas and Hidden Christmas.

Carole Jarvis | 145 comments Maybe it has something to do with the aging process, but I'm on a mission to read some classics from the past and re-read many books that I loved 30 or more years ago. I doubt anyone is interested in my list, but if so, you're welcome to join in.

The Christmas Sweater by Glenn Beck The Shepherd's Cross A Christmas Carol of Hope by Gary E. Parker Finding Noel by Richard Paul Evans An Endless Christmas by Cynthia Ruchti Tidings Of Comfort and Joy A Tender Story Of Love, Loss, And Reunion by T. Davis Bunn The Christmas Quilt (Quilts of Love, #11) by Vannetta Chapman The Christmas Shoes (Christmas Hope, #1) by Donna VanLiere A Marriage Carol by Chris Fabry Twas The Night (The Long Way Home Book 1) by Dan Walsh Under the Texas Mistletoe A Trio of Christmas Historical Romance Novellas by Karen Witemeyer A Quilt for Christmas by Melody Carlson The Christmas Portrait by Phyllis Clark Nichols Prayers of a Stranger A Christmas Journey by Davis Bunn The Unfinished Gift by Dan Walsh A Wreath of Snow by Liz Curtis Higgs The Angel of Bastogne by Gilbert Morris

An Endless Christmas by Cynthia Ruchti is one of my very favorites.

Carole, you've got some really good ones there. (And those that weren't already on my TBR list that I haven't read will go on it!)
I'm planning on starting A Quilt for Christmas A Quilt for Christmas by Melody Carlson soon. Do you want to do a 'Buddy Read' for that? If so, just let me know when you'd like to start so Staci can set that up for us!

Hi! I'm interested in reading:
Tidings Of Comfort and Joy A Tender Story Of Love, Loss, And Reunion by T. Davis Bunn The Unfinished Gift by Dan Walsh The Christmas Shoes (Christmas Hope, #1) by Donna VanLiere Prayers of a Stranger A Christmas Journey by Davis Bunn A Quilt for Christmas by Melody Carlson

Could we start with the Unfinished Gift and Prayers of a Stranger first? I actually have those checked out from my library right now!

message 15: by Carole (new)

Carole Jarvis | 145 comments Wonderful! Great to have company on some of these.

Kate, I picked up A Quilt for Christmas yesterday, so maybe we could start in a few days? Need to finish a couple of others first.

Crystal, I can do The Unfinished Gift any time, as I have it on my Kindle. I'm waiting for Prayers of a Stranger: A Christmas Journey, but it shouldn't be long.

Staci, could you set up a buddy read for Carole and I for A Quilt for Christmas, starting on 5 December please?

Thank you!

message 19: by Carole (new)

Carole Jarvis | 145 comments Thank you for setting it up, Staci. I enjoy buddy reads, but there's not much I can participate in because I don't care for suspense. I'm more of a contemporary, women's fiction fan. Some historical also. So I look forward to these reads.

message 20: by Karen (new)

Karen | 1310 comments Carole - you have some good ones identified. I also am waiting for Prayers of a Stranger: A Christmas Journey and based on the discussion here, just requested An Endless Christmas.

The other two on your list that I might be able to join you with are - The Christmas Quilt (Quilts of Love, #11) by Vannetta Chapman and Twas The Night (The Long Way Home Book 1) by Dan Walsh . The earliest I could possibly get to these two is very late in the month as I focus on finishing up a bunch of this year's challenges.

message 21: by Carole (new)

Carole Jarvis | 145 comments Karen, I'm so glad you requested An Endless Christmas. Very seldom do I tear up while reading, but this story had me in happy tears. Here's the link to my review in case you're interested:

Crystal | 736 comments I know there are already a lot of books thrown out there for Buddy Reads this month but I'm going to throw this one out there also! Starting today through December 14th if anyone would like to join! More of a heavier Christmas book from what I can tell but it looks good.
Remembering Christmas by Dan Walsh

message 23: by Carole (new)

Carole Jarvis | 145 comments Crystal, I have Remembering Christmas on my Kindle, but have never read it. Will try to join you in the days ahead.

Crystal | 736 comments Hi Staci! Could Carol and I get a thread for Remembering Christmas by Dan Walsh when you have a chance? We're shooting from the current date through December 14th.

Thread added. :-)

Karen | 1310 comments Carole and Crystal - are you still interested in reading Davis Bunn's Prayers of a Stranger: A Christmas Journey Prayers of a Stranger A Christmas Journey by Davis Bunn later this month? If so, how does starting around 23 Dec sound?

We could have Staci set up a thread for Dec 23rd through Jan 22nd.

That would work for me :)

message 30: by Carole (new)

Carole Jarvis | 145 comments I definitely plan to read it, Karen. But maybe just a little earlier if that's okay with Crystal, because my library copy is due in 16 days and I don't know if it can be renewed.

How about a start date of the 20th? Does that work for both of you?

If so, Staci - could we please get a thread for Davis Bunn's Prayers of a Stranger: A Christmas Journey for Dec 20th through Jan 19th?
