Kathrin Stacked'n'Painted (kathrinp) | 3 comments Ok, I need help because all my searching has not provided the answer.

I read the book in about the 2000s, so it's been a while and my memory is a tad iffy. The MC is a boy whom we at first meet while he is in a rocket/shuttle plummeting down and he has no clue what is going on. When he lands, he is at first alone and I think also slightly injured (I think initially also unconscious from the crash landing on the planet's surface). He eventually learns why he ended up there and starts having contact with someone, but I don't remember who and if it was in person.

For what it's worth, I seem to remember it was a very short, potentially one-word title, and the author's last name was the same as a bigger author's last name. Something makes me think they're related, but I wouldn't want to guarantee that.

Thanks, that sounds interesting, but it's not the book I'm trying to remember, I'm afraid :(

Kathrin Stacked'n'Painted (kathrinp) | 3 comments I don't know how you sparked this memory, but I'm 99% certain I found the book.

I think it is Nick Sagan's Idlewild Not 100% the storyline I remember, but I read it in 2009/2010, so it's been a while.
