The premise of the last dragon hiding in a Louisiana bayou was intriguing. Especially one "swilling Absolut in a Flashdance T-shirt, and binging Netflix". It sounds highly entertaining and it did start rather well. Or I, at least, enjoyed the first couple of chapters. But then, it just got to be too much for me. I'm not a fan of an over-the-board humour (slapstick for example) so this book burned out early for me.
The villain was highly stereotypical- absolutely insane, of course, with bouts of sympathy for his childhood. The novel is full of action so it really did flow quite fast so if you're after a funny action book with dragon, this is one for you! As others may have warned, there is quite a bit of profane language involved though that wasn't what bothered me about this book. There are much worse ones out there.
I felt pretty much the same. The humor was a little too over-the-top for me, too. I think the first half was stronger than the second. I didn't care for the language, so I won't be looking for any of the "much worse out there" books. I do like Vern, though.
