I haven't seen the movie yet, but I must say that I really enjoy the novel so far, I'm really curious about the movie and I will grab it right after finishing the book :) So far I can say that it's a much more complex story than a dystopian arena where teenagers are forced to kill each other - it's also a great portrayal of what totalitarian dictatorship in East-Asia region might look like.
@Manju - thank you!:)

The movie is intense, much more so because of the preexisting relationships and dynamics between classmates who have known each other for years.

It is, but there are actually so many movies based on books there's just plenty to choose from :) Side note: I have a feeling that in the recent years it's almost impossible to find a movie not based on a short story, novel or comic book series...

@Akshay: Let's agree that I'll get back to you the moment I finish both the novel and the movie, I'm sure there will be a lot to discuss:)

@Manju: That may be true, and by the way I love fantasy myself so I'm open to any suggestions as I covered the most of the well-known titles such as Lord of the Rings or A Song of Ice andFire (at least the parts that has been written so far)

Oh that's great. It always feels good to meet another fantasy lover:)
Try Brandon Sanderson or Joe Abercrombie.:)
I have read only first book in ASOIAF, will pick second book in May.:)

@Ashkay: I'm going to add them to my planned list, thanks:)
@Manju: Indeed :) I will follow your recommendations! About ASOIAF - I've read everything published so far, and well... I love the plot but I have a huge problem with Martin's way of story-telling and the way he suddenly stops writing altogether about certain characters and introduces a ton of new people just to drop them after some time too:(
EDIT: Is there any particular series from Sanderson you recommend as first to read or should I just grab a random series and dive in? :)

Sanderson's earlier standalone books or Mistborn series is a good starting point.
