help! finding new series/book similar to graceling but with no magic! help!

Hi! I am in desperate need of a new book. I was hoping to find something similar to the Graceling series because I love them so much. The only problem is, I am not a huge fan of magic. I try to stick with sci-fi or plausible real life scenarios, but I still love powers and fun adventures. I tried to start reading The Prison Healer and was super excited about it, but there is magic involved. Any suggestions?? TY!!

Hmm, that’s a good question. I have one recommendation that might be a hit or miss. The Gilded Wolves is magic realism set in 1800s Paris. It has some magic in it but not that much. It’s much more focused on puzzles, character dynamics, and birthright politics. The writing is very good. Not sure if this is what you’re looking for but yeah…
Maybe try Spindle's End by Robin Mckinley? It's a Sleeping Beauty retelling from before that was hugely popular so it's actually still original. It's got the older setting, strong female lead, minor love story, and female friendship that Graceling has. It's not quite as action packed, and it does have magic, but if I remember right, it's all really, really minor, once you get past the Christening gifts.
