I hope the prologue/first chapter reads like the beginning of Defiant did for the Skyward series, summarizing the events of RoW. I'm not invested enough for a full reread of the series at this point.

If it doesn't... maybe skimming the reread BRs will be useful? Even without reading with us?

Whooo! Sanderson finished Wind and Truth June 3rd at 5:21 am? pm? Anyway, it's done and got handed off to the publishers today! I think we're on track for the BR. ^_^

Mine usually doesn’t but I think they know how Brandon’s books go. He’s HUGE in Salt Lake.

Doublechecking his writing schedule, it could be either or... he sleeps in the mornings, gets up at noon, writes 1-5pm, 5-10pm is family time, and then he writes 10pm to at least 2am...

Not sure when he films his youtube videos, podcasts, and front page signings... it's gotta be a hella weird schedule for the rest of Dragonsteel business to work around tho...

Libby lets you do this if the library has copies on order--sometimes you have to search by ISBN though, since the books don't always show up when you search... or hit the "notify me" icon...

I'm getting an eyebook for this one... contemplating whether I want to get a nice physical copy or try to track down one of the signed ones, or go digital and just wait until the eventual backerkit campaign for the nice pretty leatherbound...

I have a Libby account at 3 libraries and wasn’t able to find it at any of them. I’ll try to look up by isbn if I can figure out how.

Can't find specific isbn right now... will try again when the release date is closer... and the trick doesn't always work.

I can only set up the notification but no line yet. I will buy the physical copy, though, if it doesn't all get sold out. I have the first four.

Yeah... ditto... I'll probably end up with like, five copies... audio, ebook, first edition hardcover, kickstarter leatherbound... okay, I guess that's four copies.

Reading Yumi and the Nightmare Painter has made me realise how much I've forgotten of Stormlight worldbuilding and magic lol. But I can't really be bothered to read through all the rest again (plus the fact that it's way too soon for it) so I'm just gonna hope that following along the series BR threads refreshes my memory!

Cheers to that! I love it when someone comes in "late" to the BR--right before reading the next book--always jogs the memory wonderfully reading other folks' comments.

I just read the blurb on Audible and damn is it spoilery... so many characters and Unmade mentioned... and "TOdium"...

Definitely the kinda stuff I try to avoid spoiling in earlier book threads for first-timers :D

Personally, I'm a rampant blurb-reader, and spoil things as a result all the time, on first read-throughs... luckily I've been on-board with this series since around book 3's release?...

So I will be starting this Friday and my only plans this weekend is dinner with some friends so we can do our annual Pollyanna, any other errands I can do while listening. I told my family we had enough quality time last weekend so I am good to wrap presents, make cookie dough to freeze to bake closer to the holiday and make a bunch of different soups to restock my freezer!

Good to know. I usually don’t read blurbs but sometimes I do and I’m very anti spoiler.

Lol I had a feeling it was the prologue Ann-Marie meant... OMG I can't wait.. Have 2 books ahead I want to get through before I devour it though :D

Yes it was prologue but in my defense it was early! And I hadn't finished my coffee yet! And I was excited.....

Anyway I fixed it!

Chapter 4 (view spoiler)[and I was loving the Wit and Kaladin interactions and then Wit gives him another flute and I was like there has to be something up with that, why would he give him another one and then is he teaching Kaladin how to travel between worlds?!?!?!?!?! Also Wit knows something is wrong with what Todium did to him in the epilogue last book but can't figure it out so maybe he can figure it out. (hide spoiler)]

Through Day 1 and interludes (view spoiler)[I didn't realize each section would cover a single day but it makes sense. Lots to unpack from the Wit/Kaladin scene, Kaladin essentially saying goodbye to Bridge 4 and the Windrunners and eventually Shallan and Adolin is not the ideal foreshadowing for him so more than a bit anxious about that! But then Dalinar asked Kaladon to be his heir so maybe that is a good omen for Kal but not Dalinar? Shallan and Adolin are back but an army is coming as well so that is not awesome. Kelek's interlude though - Kelsier was mentioned by name so even if it wasn't a spoiler for anyone it's definitely out there now lol And the Odium thing, Cultivation was like you suck and are bad and should feel bad to him. Taravangian sucks even more than he did originally! (hide spoiler)]

I picked up my copy today :D Though I won't be reading it until the BR start date. I'm looking forward to opening all those spoilers Ann-Marie :D

I wanted to wait but I wanted to know what happens more plus this weekend I have hardly any plans and next 2 weekends are stupid busy lol

I hoping to get it for christmas, but if not ill likely grab it the next day its not missing from the shelves

Stormlight Archive #6 isn't expected until 2033... just in time for the 10 year anniversary leatherbound edition of this book in 2034 ;)

(view spoiler)[is it really surprising?... it's easy to forget, and to romanticize Gavilar since he's dead, and you mostly see him through the rose-tinted memories of Dalinar / Navani / Elhokar / Jasnah (and I'm stretching the rose-tint a bit probably)... but if you think back, his closest allies were Sadeas (in Dalinar's flashbacks) and Amaram (in the Sons of Honor group)... and those guys are assholes... a flock of assholes ;) (hide spoiler)]

I guess I never really thought about it? (view spoiler)[I did think at random times what his motivation was and you are right his association with Ammaran and Sadaes is not a good look but Dalinar was in with those two as well, especially Ammaran so I guess I just figured it was like a good old boys thing?
