("we can beat them, just for one day
we could be heroes, just for one day")
More recent music would be Foo Fighters - My Hero : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqWRa...
("don't the best of them bleed it out
while the rest of them peter out?
...
there goes my hero, watch him as he goes")
Matrick's story seems tailor-made for Coldplay's Viva la Vida: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvgZk...
("i used to roll the dice,
feel the fear in my enemy's eyes,
listen as the crowd would sing,
now the old king is dead, long live the king")
One addition. Måneskin is big recently. Just-released "Trastavere" would fit Ganelon's history and his relationship with Sabbatha as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGAnd...
("open up my chest, take everything I've got, yeah
the touch of an angel
the taste of a drug
the look of a stranger
who has seen too much")

I've mentioned it in another thread, but for the introduction of Lady Jain and the Silk Arrows, I'd recommend
"Stand and Deliver" by Adam and the Ants
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4B2a6...
A bit of Aussie rock for the montage of them setting out for Castia "Highway to Hell" by AC/DC (I'm thinking of the movie version to come)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l482T...
When they escape. "Band on the Run" by Paul McCartney and Wings.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5P_Vf...
and for the Finish (sic) 😜 "Hard Rock Hallelujah" by Lordi

Just for that gem alone I'm giving you back the credibility points I took away when you dissed "Ramble On" by Led Zeppelin a couple years back. Reading the rest of your list, I'm impressed with your musical tastes.
My own additions to this include:
(as I mentioned before) "Jane" by Jefferson Starship
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXmrM...
"More Than a Feeling" by Boston, although I think for this book let's use the cover version by Steve N Seagulls
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ng68...
"Breaking the Law" by Judas Priest just because
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L397T...
More later, probably...
If you're going to have Jane's Addiction, then you have to have some Nine Inch Nails for the full NIИJA experience.

Rival Songs, Pressure and Time live, best version I think (it's also in a commercial), powerful vocals
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIJ-t...
No click tracks or backing tracks for either band...
I like this Dorothy - Gifts from the Holy Ghosts (lyrics in CC) one too, best version. Did she find religion? Her other videos seem more satannic lol. Might be good for Rose in the second book.

Some music writers have talked about what used to be a ~13 year rock vs. pop cycle where one style of music gave way to the other for 6-7 years at a time (in terms of the music that "owned the charts.") That started to change a bit with the decline of grunge in the 1990s and rock came back but not with quite the same broad appeal that it used to. Yes you have some great new bands but there hasn't been that same wholesale chart dominance that rock used to do.
1951 started with the first rock bands, peaked with Elvis
1964 rise of the Beatles
1976 introduction of punk rock and new wave
1990 grunge
2002 indie rock

(the article was written in 2018; in a recent podcast the author admitted that the last renewal he was talking about kind of fizzled out this time around.)

Well, if we're going to get into new rock, this song would be perfect for a fight scene:
Die to Live by Volbeat
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBZi7...
I also like Volbeat's song Shotgun Blues
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=snItF...
And probably my favorite rock song of the last 20 years:
Highway Tune by Greta Van Fleet
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJg4O...
Supposedly it was played for Robert Plant and he thought it was from Led Zeppelin I...

Die to Live by Volbeat"
That would be excellent for a fight scene. Although it does skew towards thrash, and my issue there is that I can never understand what they’re saying. Especially that really dark screamy stuff. I don’t get the appeal, but different strokes and all that.
The most recent rock song that I’ve heard that I like is “Happiness is Overrated” by Letdown, which came out last summer.

I have super eclectic music interests.

All your bass belongs to us.

I've seen Rival Sons play in a small rock club in Nottingham, one of the best gigs I've ever been to. They're definitely keeping the fires of rock burning.
As AC/DC said, rock and roll will never die.

Let’s go ahead and do a mixtape for Bloody Rose. If you like the first book then you’ll enjoy the sequel.
I think the obvious bands are in the genre of epic gothic metal: Nightwish, Evanescence, Epica, Frozen Crown and Doro. Very much a “well no duh” list. So I’m going to branch out a little. Add Heart’s “Barracuda” and “Crazy on You” where appropriate.
Just for general vibes, these songs:
“Hell’s Comin’ With Me” by Poor Mans Poison (wait for the 1-minute mark)
https://youtu.be/9oDxynh7rG0?si=qVwS3...
“A Good Song Never Dies” by Saint Motel
https://youtu.be/s29fcv5E52Y?si=VSKHi...
“This Ain’t No Place For No Hero” - The Heavy
https://youtu.be/9u9ymiSmtXY?si=lmY0J...
“I’m Gonna Live Till I Die” - Sarah Vaughn
https://youtu.be/9uWvFT98bmo?si=eH624...
For Rose:
“Hit Me With Your Best Shot” - Pat Benatar
https://youtu.be/JRD80XRMT7s?si=BgNLt...
“Bad Woman Blues” by Beth Hart
https://youtu.be/qiRiPtg9EFk?si=v-zC9...
“I’m Going To Hell” - The Pretty Reckless (metal version - NSFW)
https://youtu.be/bmtbg5b7_Aw?si=jq_xk...
(Acoustic version - NSFW)
https://youtu.be/gI7Q1L4VfGs?si=VFYGo...
I think a pair of Ivy Levan’s songs sum up Rose pretty well:
“Hot Damn”
https://youtu.be/sAxzkViLCH0?si=uB2xx...
“I Don’t Wanna Wake Up (Explicit)” - NSFW
https://youtu.be/pxIpQNH9MEk?si=pOdnd... (It even has a bear, which, if you’ve read the book…)
For Tam:
“A Voice That Carries” by Bonnie McKee
https://youtu.be/jEIQtK3Q5SM?si=PEeXp...
“Go Baby Go” - Nina Lee
https://youtu.be/YflsFaEG7Cs?si=eCWfV...
“Pretty Girls” by Renee Rapp
https://youtu.be/6g4Y5IYY5Mk?si=ExJyQ...
“I Enjoy Being A Girl” - Sutton Foster version (originally from Flower Drum Song)
https://youtu.be/7qBy3BWgXbM?si=AujBV...
(Original version - you may recognize the young suitor as a certain CEO whose HQ is at the top of Nakatomi Plaza: https://youtu.be/8JigBfoDtzY?si=rmZDV...)
For Brune:
“Man or a Monster” - Sam Tinnesz
https://youtu.be/pEnPq_fa8z4?si=IgER_...
For Cura:
“You Can Run” - Adam Jones
https://youtu.be/78IaxWzDkuU?si=iZKqm...
Battle scene (pick one):
“Outer Dimensions” - Amaranthe
https://youtu.be/y3abhagVcgY?si=kVdlx...
“Blood of Heaven” - Nocturna
https://youtu.be/LDCb4ftUpLY?si=elOl6...

I don't know why it's not their #1 song.
(But then for Steel Panther, I think 17 Girls in a Row should be their #1 song.)
For Tam? Isn't for me right? I like that song though.
The Fuzz - Delicious Disgusting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7II0... might be good for Rose with the female singer who's almost like Freddie Mercury. This song should have a million Spotify plays but it doesn't. That's me trying to figure out the lyrics in the comments.
Renee Austin - Pillow, I recorded this off my tv with my phone, it looks bad but the blues rock redhead and band is great.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmGV7...

It’s all coming together just as Cthulhu intended.
Slash - By the Sword is sort of a rock The Good, The Bad & The Ugly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhCnX...
Joe Walsh - In the City, this is from the movie Warriors, come out and play ay https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1NeF...
Greta Van Fleet - Meeting the Master, it's not Led Zeppelin, but an incredible simulation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFFKe...
Steel Blue (just intonation tuning) - Hero, it's only on Bandcamp https://hansfordrowe.bandcamp.com/tra...
