The malevolent spirit is believed to be Hester Dobbs who murdered Astrid Poole, the first lost bride, and then leaped to her death after escaping her cell. Trey seems to believe her force is limited, as he showed when she trapped him in that room on the third floor. What say you? What’s her goal?

I agree with Trey that her force is limited. After a big display of her power, she goes dormant for a time to recharge. Her goal is the kill a Poole bride in each generation. The focus of our ghost hunters needs to be to figure out how to break the curse and break it.

I agree her goal is to continue to kill Poole brides in each generation. She appears to be limited to Poole property and for a limited time. If she works too hard to trap people she becomes weak. She probably weakens every time she does something evil.
