Lester Chambers and his brother Congressman Mitchell Ray Chambers have agreed to sell Rock Point to the Hamilton Hotel chain for a tidy sum, but when it comes time to sign the final papers, the congressman reneges on their deal demanding more money. The congressman becomes angry when Aiden and Spencer tell the town’s people why they’re not building a resort there – one they desperately need. Why did the congressman become so upset? What does he plan to do about it? Thoughts on the way this went down and his subsequent actions. Is he ever a suspect in your eyes later?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments The brothers made him look really bad because the said he reneged on their agreement and wouldn't do business with someone whose word they couldn't trust. He tried to spin it to look like it was the brother's fault. He embodied everything bad that we think about politicians. I never thought of him as a suspect, just a buffoon.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments I grew up in a time when "a man's word is his bond" was the way my dad believed and acted. It is very sad that this politician embodied the sleazy stereotype.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments The Congressman believed he could get more money for this land than what was previously agreed upon. I think he thought he could draw out the negotiations for a long time, getting the locals excited about the prospect of jobs, and get re-elected. When Aiden told the people why they weren't going to build, the locals turned on the Congressman.

He was never a suspect in my eyes.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments He was never a suspect for me. Why would he strike at Cordelia?

Congressman Chambers is corrupt and greedy. I'm glad that Aiden and Spenser turned the tables on him.

Jessica | 156 comments The Congressman was not a suspect for me but the storyline served it's purpose in the end to show Aiden in a good light and to make him miss Cordie.
