I'm going to go with David Copperfield for this one.
Was reading Nervous Conditions by Tsitsi Dangarembga for the 2023 challenge but didn't finish in time, thankfully it fits this prompt.
I just finished The Viceroys by Federico De Roberto. A main character in the story is the young prince, Consalvo, who we follow into adulthood.
I read Call It Sleep by Henry Roth, from the POV of David, age 5 at the beginning of the book and 10 at the end.

I read The Summer Book by Tove Jansson. The main characters are Sofia, a six-year-old girl, and her grandmother.
