Fabitha (fabitha89) | 575 comments Hi Lusie!
This is my top 10 this year, they are not in order of preference but merely depending on when I read them lol

1. Rebecca Ross - Divine Rivals
2. Tracy Deonn - Bloodmarked
3. Rachel Gillig - One Dark Window
4. Diane Frank Mallis - Daughter of the Drowned Empire
5. Zerocalcare - No Sleep Till Shengal
6. S.A. Chakraborty - City of Brass
7. Claire Legrand - Sawkill Girls
8. Lara Lago - Il peso in avanti
9. Emily Lloyd-Jones - The Drowned Woods
10. Elizabeth Acevedo - The Poet X

This was definitely a year for fantasy!

Lisette (illusie) | 1284 comments Hi Fabitha! The same for my list. They are posted in the order that I read them. That was the easiest lol

I've only read 1 book from your list. Will have to take a closer look at it.

Erica | 1309 comments Well I read nearly 300 books so I'll try for 10 but I had a lot of 5 stars so there's no way I can put them in order.

Swing by Kwame Alexander
I discovered this author this year and read 7 of his books all were 5 stars. Swing was my favourite though, a ya novel in verse about following a boy who likes jazz and baseball. He writes mostly poetry. If you like Elizabeth Acevedo I'd recommend Kwame Alexander.

Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros I loved this series for the dragons.

The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi by Shannon Chakraborty 40 year old single mom who was retired from being a pirate gets pulled back in for one more job... Start to a new fantasy series.

Carrie Soto Is Back by Taylor Jenkins Reid Historical fiction following a tennis athlete as she comes out of retirement.

Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens Historical fiction/mystery with excellent description of marsh land and good poetry within a mystery I didn't figure out until the end.

Kinauvit?: What’s Your Name? The Eskimo Disc System and a Daughter’s Search for her Grandmother Non-fiction/history that I knew nothing about. This system was separate from residential schools.

Magic Claims by Ilona Andrews Urban fantasy/dystopian My favourite author put out two more books back following their Kate Daniels character.

Hell Bent by Leigh Bardugo
Fantasy/dark academia Book two in her new series set at Yale university.

Dead Heat by Patricia Briggs Urban fantasy This was book four of a spin-off series. I read all six books of this series finally. Following werewolves.

Check & Mate by Ali Hazelwood Ya rom-com I thought this was her best written book so far. Her books always make me laugh even if her books are quite samey. This one made me want to play chess for sure.

Fabitha (fabitha89) | 575 comments @Lusie same for yours! I'll try to read a bit less fantasy this year, diversifying is good.

@Erica, wow! That's a great list!
