Sam’s ex-husband Peter may be released from prison because the evidence taken from his apartment might be considered an illegal seizure since they didn’t have a warrant. Did you think that could be a real possibility? Did you have questions about the legality of it all at the time it happened?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I was really miffed that such smart cops let that happen.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments Yes, they should have waited for the warrant.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments Certainly should have waited for that warrant. Peter wasn't in his apartment when they decided to go in, so it wasn't a case of thinking he may destroy evidence before they could get a warrant. They jumped the gun and it costs them.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1803 comments I agree with everyone. They should have waited and now it has cost them (and especially Sam).

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I agree. There is some leeway if there is eminent danger, but in this case, they should have waited.

Such a shame. I understood their zeal to nail this guy but you’ve got to follow procedure. This was avoidable but it still stung.
