This thread is the place to alert the community to books that seem to you to have stereotypical or antisemitic portrayals of Jewish characters and culture. Racism, homophobia, sexism, and other issues of stereotyping and negative portrayal can also be discussed here, these may be common in some of the older books in our book lists.
Disagreement and debate are welcome in this thread, but the original person posting to alert the community that something is antisemitic or sexist, etc., is under no obligation to stay in the thread defending your position to those who disagree. Feel free to just drop in, let us know, and never need to check the thread again.
This top post may get edited with book titles and their alerts if the thread gets long, so people can easily access the information. Books posted here have not been deemed problematic by the Jewish Genre Challenge (because we haven't read them ourselves), we are merely collating reader opinions.
