@Robin - I am not sure he was trying to force her. It is more like he was showing her what he wanted and it was up to her to decide if she wanted them same. There is no point wasting his time and his feelings on someone who cannot reciprocate. The ultimatum was more for him than for her.



Very true! Why should he put in the time and effort, if she isn't interested in anything long-term?

I'm also not a fan of ultimatums most of the time. But in this case, he needed to know where he stood with her.
Ultimatums rarely work so this was destined to blow up. Freddie’s heart was in the right place but his execution was way off track. This required a sit down where he gave her a choice, fully expressing how important she was to him, more than a booty call.
Poor guy.
