The 24-Hour Readathon date is set! Visit the blog via the link at the top of this thread for all the details.

It's going to be interesting to start the 24 hour Readathon at 4pm. I'll be reading a lot on the 17th but maybe not so much in the part that's Sunday with me.
I'll update in here with my reading for the day.

So glad to have you back with us! Hope you enjoy the 24-hr mini-RAT. I'm hoping I won't have to work, but that will depend on how many hours I can get in before Saturday. Happy Reading!

I’ve actually been reading all morning to finish a book before the start. LOL
My first book will be

Good morning (or afternoon) everyone! Time to get this party started. Glad to have you joining us, Jane and Lolita. No worries on reading the full 24 hours. Read as much, or as little, as you can/want. We're all laid back here.
I'm working on finishing
and then jumping back into
Happy Reading! I'll check back in later. :)

Reading Dragons Don't Eat Meat to p. 130; but also just read
Also read
And
And
Plus into The White Guy Dies First: 13 Scary Stories of Fear and Power 56%: this is just as fantastic and subtly, deeply, frightening, as Out There Screaming: An Anthology of New Black Horror!!!✅

I’ve finished
Whispers at the Bluebell Inn by Hannah Ellis
A Bit of Holly Jolly by Kelly Elliott
One Hundred Intentions by Kelly Collins
I started reading
The Neverending Story by Michael Ende after A bit of Holly Jolly but as it is a mass market paperback, I decided I have to read only 150 pages then have a break from the small writing. When I get up I’ll read the next part.

Both books sound intriguing!
Both books sound intriguing!
Things have not gone as planned today. I think I took three short naps. lol Finally finished Where Angels Fear to Tread. Now I am finally diving back into Out There Screaming: An Anthology of New Black Horror. With all the naps, I expect I'll be up pretty late. I'd like to finish this one and perhaps start another. We shall see.

Thank you, I did.
My goal for today is to first read another 150 pages of The Neverending Story.
Then continue Freaky Gifts by Amanda M. Lee which I read one chapter of when I got to bed.
I don’t think I’ll manage to finish them both in the next 6 hours but hopefully I’ll get quite far.

I might finish the last 150 pages of the book later tonight or else tomorrow.
I’m very pleased with the books I’ve finished the last 24 hours and the all work great towards all the other many challenges I’m taking part in.
Thank you Michelle, I really like that you’ve added this to the month long Winter Respite. Also very pleased it was this weekend as I would not have been able to take part at all next weekend.

I was able to read a total of 7 hours (my kindle gave up the last 2 hours of the readathon) and finished reading Saint Death's Daughter by C. S. E. Cooney, Oedipus at Colonus by Sophocles and 11% of Mutiny on the Bounty by Charles Nordhoff and James Norman Hall. And I had lots of fun. Thanks Michelle!

You're welcome, Jane! Glad you were able to get some good reading in. We will have a 24 Hour Readathon during each month long readathon from now on. Going forward, I will probably just designate a date, as they do with Dewey's. Participation was low, and trying to get everyone to vote by a certain time is difficult. I hope that will work for everyone. I know the date probably won't work for some.

Thank you! For me, it was a great number for a short month. Some of these ladies on here can read that much in a week!! I don't know how they do it.
Anyway, I'll have to join a future readathon. Horror is not my thing. I do like some SciFi movies, but I've never really read SciFi books. I might have to join you then and stretch myself a bit!

Yeah, I don't know how they do it either. For the horror readathon, we allow thrillers, mysteries, etc. I know some people are not horror readers so if you like reading the other genres I mentioned, feel free to join us.
I don't read much science fiction (though I love movies and series) so that's part of the reason I created the event (with some encouragement from Cobwebby up there), to encourage myself to read more of the genre.
Hope to see you for one or both. :)
