What does Allison discover in the envelope Bill gave her, and how could it have potentially changed her and Charlotte’s lives? From whom does she learn the truth about what really happened all those years ago and what does she plan to do about it? Thoughts?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments The contact information for her mother's friend and the insurance policy changed everything for Allison. Allison and Charlotte would have had completely different lives. This information from her mother's friend gives Allison a completely different view of what happened. Her aunt and uncle didn't take them out of kindness, they took them out of greed.

I think this is the point that Allison is done with them. No more emotional blackmail, no more money, severing their relationship completely,

Jessica | 156 comments I like that Allison had a conversation with her parent's dear old friend to cement the information for her. I was glad when this happened.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments Allison learned that her mother's best friend wanted Charlotte and Allison to live with her family. But, when the aunt and uncle found out about the insurance money, they petitioned the courts for the girls.

This made Allison finally grow a backbone and tell her relatives she was done with them.

I think this was the last piece of the puzzle for her to finally kick them out of her life. But I still think she should have done it when her sister did.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I would have cut ties a long time before Allison did. However, I can see how she had a need for family and put up with their crap for too long.
