What did you find refreshing about this book with its backward glance to women's lib?

I read this book last year when it was new. I read it again last week.
Disappointed both times. I' waiting for next week.

I laughed my head off for a while and then got bored.

I loved the book. It is about the struggles that women had and have about getting into their own field.

I found humor and fun characters, but nothing to rave about. I read it during two airplane flights and found it a nice diversion.

The book seemed cliche, outdated, possibly because of my age! ha ha
Yes, we women have had to push through barriers, maybe the author wants younger readers to understand this?

I might say it aligns with themes accounting for the popularity of WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING.
It hits the selling points, FEMALE LONELINESS, A TOUGH STANCE DESPITE ODDS, VICTORY AGAINST MALES.

All of the above. I couldn't like Elizabeth.

Clichéd for me as I am of similar generation as Elizabeth. It is well written but entertaining only to a point. I know the story all too well and don't wish to spend any more time on it. I've been there and done that. In time, maybe a century, it may have historical significance.
