This is for discussion of the Prologue through to the end of Chapter 4 for Leviathan Wakes. Please ensure you do NOT post spoilers for any other part of the book! Thank you!

peggylovesbooks | 36 comments With the chapters being the POV for each character is a good idea for this book. The Prologue totally drew me into the book.
The introduction of Holden and Miller was good showed me how two different backgrounds of these people. I like Holden and how he reacted to the ship they went to help.

As for Miller still haven't decided if I like him.

Ungar5 | 25 comments This is my first ever scifi book and although I'm not far enough into the book, I have a feeling I'll like it.

What I liked most of all until now is that apparently one of the threats is a terrorist cell trying to liberate the outer planets from the inner planets, or something like that. I find this so refreshingly original (again, first scifi. I have no idea If it's prevalent in the genre but after so many dark Lords and evil kings, it's definitely refreshing)
Another thing I like, is the relationship between the belters and the inner planeters. It makes so much sense that there would be unjustified prejudice between the peoples. I guess that also 1000 years from now we will still be humans...

Still no strong feelings about the main characters.but I'm leaning slightly towards Miller. I always like the more dark, morbid characters. And he strikes me as one.

Akshay (akshay_sauron) | 5 comments Good start to the book. I like both characters, Miller a bit more as he seems more realistic and practical.

The prejudices and physical differences between the belters and inner planets was a nice touch since most scifi show whole humanity as one homogeneous unit.

Dale Nevin | 20 comments Yep this book has got me hooked straight away!

Alli Brooks (allibrooks) | 1 comments This is my first endeavor into adult scifi, so I wasn't really sure what to expect going into this.

I definitely didn't expect to be loving it as much as I do. I'm finding it just all around really fascinating and super east to get into, which I was worried about being new to the genre and all. I'm liking the writing style. It's very easy to read and super fast paced.

I haven't really fallen in love with the characters yet, but I do find them all really intriguing. I'm definitely hooked!

Okay so I am late to the party but I started this and I'm certainly enjoying it a lot. I like the character of Holden best at the moment although Miller does also intrigue me to be sure.

As many of you have said, this is also only my second foray into Adult Sci-fi (The first being The Three Body Problem) and I have to say this one feels very readable and easy to get into.

I recently finished up Daniel Abraham's other book, The Dragon's Path, and I really didn't love it which was a shame, but this one seems far more up my alley :)

Overall an interesting beginning and I look forward to reading more of this soon and finishing it up hopefully this week :D

Michael (michaeldixon) | 60 comments I don't know if I can do this one guys. There is a lot of swearing in the first chapter. Shame, because the prologue was very intriguing.
Does the language clean up?

Christina Pilkington | 27 comments This was a little hard for me to get into at first. Lots of space lingo and technology which I'm not familiar with, so it was slow reading until I got used to it. Also, it's pretty plot heavy in the beginning, so since I'm not that attached to the characters yet, it's hard to care that much what is happening. But I am intrigued enough to keep reading.

It's certainly one where it took me a while to get attached to the characters too, but it was an interesting story as it went on :)

As for the language, not really, there's a fair bit of swearing in the book overall.
