Welcome to the A Court of Mist and Fury Buddy Read Discussion thread! This thread officially opens on February 3rd and anyone can join at any time. Please keep in mind that spoilers are allowed in this thread but only up to the group's current reading place. Do not spoil the book if you've read further than the group. Any extra days can be used to catch up!

Each day we will be reading by chapters or page numbers. Page numbers are an approximation based on the hardcover or paperback that is the default on Goodreads. The suggested Buddy Read discussion schedule is as follows:

Gonna be starting a day early, I won't have time to read over the weekend so I wanna make it up. I'm so excited for this one!

There's so much going on! Up to chapter 4: (view spoiler)[ I almost screamed when Rhys showed up at the wedding! Talk about saving the day haha. I feel so bad for Feyre, she clearly has PTSD from her time spent under the mountain. I'm intrigued to see how she'll deal with it and if Tamlin would help her out in any way (since it definitely seems like he's not really doing anything at this point in time). (hide spoiler)]

Up to chapter 16 (view spoiler)[ okay, but why in the holy fuck would Tamlin lock Feyre in the house?? he comes off as excessively overprotective, which I understand why but still??? glad Rhys and his gang scooped her up when they did, poor Feyre. she's asking for help in her own way and Tamlin is just like, "here's another set of paints, did I do good?" these chapters are frustrating me lol

Chp 15 (view spoiler)[ OMG Tamlin is insufferable this book. I hate that Maas is using the miscommunication trope here because seriously both Feyre and Tamlin need to have an honest discussion with each other but they're both too stubborn to deal with things. Unlike Rhys Tamlin can't read her mind so she needs to tell him things, yes he should notice all these things but we all know men never do. But I am here for the angst. (hide spoiler)]

I agree! I feel like Tamlin could just do such a better job of paying attention to Feyre and talking to her altogether. I loved the angstyness too!!!

Up to Chp 52 (view spoiler)[ I really enjoy getting to know Rhysand's inner circle. The relationships in this book make it so much better than book 1. I'm sorry that they had to deceive the summer court for the book, but yeah they were never going to give the book up so that's a shame. I'm intrigued to see if we'll get to meet the other courts.

I wish we get to see Feyre playing around with all the powers she acquired but I'm pretty impressed by what we've seen so far. Amazing what she did to save Rhysand and can't believe we see Suriel again. OMG MATE WHAT i mean we knew it was heading somewhere but omg and wow Feyre is so pissed, which I understand but I can't wait to hear what Rhysand has to say about this (hide spoiler)]

what Rhysand says back is the best!!! can't wait for you to get to that part!!

I have finished this. I prefer Feyre with Rhysand compared to Tamlin. I never enjoyed that pairing in acotar.

@Edith I do feel like Feyre forgave him too easily given how angry she was hahha but I'm happy they found each other.

Ending (view spoiler)[ I knew it was too good to be true that everything was going so well. I'm surprised they didn't think it was a trap. BUT OMG TAMLIN WHAT AN ASS WTH you'd sell everyone out just to get your love back?? And Ianthe omg she is such a bitch. I didn't see it coming, what Feyre did to save everyone else. I can't believe Tamlin really thinks she was bewitched. But wow Feyre's a High Lady. I do agree with a lot of the reviews though, in the sense that Maas keeps doing the Tamlin/Rhysand comparison, and it feels like all Rhysand has going for him are those comparisons against Tamlin. And this is another one of those instances where Tamlin says there isn't a High Lady and suddenly Rhysand makes her one, and we don't even see the discussion behind that decision or ability to make her a High Lady. Just read up to chapter 13 and I had the same reaction when Rhys came at the wedding! He really did save her!

So far Tamlin is really annoying me, by putting so much restrictions on her to the point that she's suffering. It's sad she only feels at peace during the one week she spends in the Night Court. Her learning how to read and putting up a mental shield at least is giving her something to do with her time.

I felt so bad for Feyre throughout these chapters because she really is suffering and Tamlin isn't really helping (even though he is dealing with his own problems too). The moment where he locked her up at the estate was messed up! Fortunately Mor and Rhys were able to help her escape!

I'm curious to see what other powers Feyre will develop now that she's Fey!

Read up to chapter 34 so far and I have to say, it's funny seeing Rhys jealous of how Feyre is acting in the Summer Court to Tarquin. I never imagined him being that way 😂

I do feel bad for Tarquin though, he seems like a good guy and its sad that they're manipulating him to steal the Book from his court.

Just finished reading chapter 52 and same I wish we could see Feyre learning more about her powers. So far her powers are pretty cool!

I get why Feyre was upset about finding out she was Rhys mate in that way, but it was a little mean of her to run away from him when he was injured. Curious to see how Rhys will handle this!

Just read chapter 58 and I can't believe the human Queens betrayed them (with the exception of the golden queen who actually wanted to help them out)! It's sad seeing Velaris being attacked by the Hybren's army.

Chapter 64: Tamlin the traitor?!?!?! This guy is insane. He's willing to put the whole land at risk just because Feyre didn't want to stay locked up in the Spring Court

I know right! I was surprised when I got to that chapter. The fact that he can't let go of Feyre even after she's expressed her feelings about not wanting to go back makes me so angry! and to put everyone at risk like that?!?! I totally agree with you, May!

Just finished the book! And wow! Poor Nesta and Elain becoming Fae against their will! Also, it's interesting how Feyre went back to the Spring Court and put on an act in front of everyone so she can become a spy. Lucien is the only one who is suspicious of her. Tamlin is too delusional to actually fall for this 😂

No kidding! I'm curious to see how the whole Feyre/Lucien relationship will play out due to that. Also, not to mention that Elaine and him are mates as well!!!

Yeah that was interesting to see Elaine is Lucian's mate! Next book will be very interesting! I don't remember anything about the 3rd book 😂

Yeah I'm up for it! I finish midterms on March 11th so I'm good to start reading then!
