2nd Quarter Challenge: One Hit Wonders

Edited to add: I didn't get to re-read The Night Circus, but I did read Black Beauty by Anna Sewell, which is mentioned in 3 of the linked lists. Finished 6/20/15

UPDATE 4/1/15: I think these will be my selections. They are books I already own and have been on my book shelf way too long!
1. Doctor Zhivago by Boris Pasternak
2. The Kitchen House by Kathleen Grissom
3. The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy
4. A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole

Second Quarter Challenge, April 01 - June 30
One Hit Wonders
Goal: 4/4

I did find one listopia. It is called Authors With Only One Whole Novel.

4/3
Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
Zuleika Dobson by Max Beerbohm
The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy
Doctor Zhivago by Boris Pasternak

I would say that if an author hasn't released another book in 10 years, you are fine. Best way to check is to see if the author has anything in the works.

Sure, reading is what you make it, so if you feel it counts, I will too.

I did find one listop..."
Thanks for finding that. I'll ask Kara if she can add it to the introduction post.

So how many would you like to read?

I am really excited to be leading this discussion :) I have already read several "One Hit Wonders," and I wanted an excuse to reread some of them. My first will be To Kill a Mockingbird.

Also, Claire, Sherry and Daisya...you are added. I hope you enjoy the challenge.

I felt that way about Joseph Heller. He's written a bunch of books, but Catch 22 is the only one people ever remember.

1. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern Completed 4/27/15 I really loved this book; I thought it had the most perfect ending to a novel I've read in a long while.

For this challenge, we're going to explore authors who have only written one book (or one novel). It's all right if the author has published short stories or has been part of a larger collection of published works with other contributors, but he or she can only have one standalone work.
Kadijah Michelle created this challenge in honor of To Kill a Mockingbird falling off this list in July.
For a variation, you can ALSO read books that was the only book of its type written by that author (for example, a fantasy book written by a nonfiction writer).
Set your goal, and keep us posted on how you do!
