Duff Hart-Davis Set in Russia at the time of the Revolution.

I'll mention my Rodeo Finn which follows an Irish teen girl who travels to Arizona for the summer.

Bush Adventure South American Mission Kit Hunter Show Jumper Rival Riders

These tales from the 1960s follow a young woman from Britain as she travels to South America and Australia, also Paris.

Pat Smythe Probably the inspiration for Kit Hunter. Pat was a showjumper at a time when this was unusual for ladies.

Bryan Forbes About a fictional Olympic eventer.

A couple of Dick Francis books fit, for adults mostly.

Jill's Pony Trek would qualify. Any other pony trek book too. Ruby Ferguson

This one is about a canal barge, pulled by a horse. This is a book for adults. Grey Lady

The Horse of the Americas by Robert Moorman Denhardt tells of the Spanish sailing to discover the New World. We get the bills of lading for the ships, so we know what colour and gender horses they brought.
