Any questions?

message 2: by MN Lisa (new)

MN Lisa (lisa713mn) | 423 comments Not knowing about any of the tasks, will there be considerations made for gender swap? I read exclusively MM Romance, so some of the Female centered tasks can be hard, specifically if they are MC tasks,

message 3: by Erica, Quality Control Supervisor (new)

Erica | 4667 comments Mod
I would certainly allow that but I think it may not be an issue. Tasks are written in a gender neutral way - referring to MC for Main Character or just character if a secondary character can fulfill the requirement.

Gabby | 624 comments Do we message you or have a way of reporting when all our tasks for that level are done?

I set each thread to notify me as you post. So I should see when you have new completions. That stated, I have a major buying market for my store coming up March 1 - 3. So it's possible that I may miss a few things. If I don't respond within a day or so feel free to message me!

I am in the same boat, other than a very rare reading of a classic I read almost exclusively mm except for a rare non fiction book dealing with relegion that I read for church.

I like it. Yes.

message 9: by Penumbra (new)

Penumbra | 486 comments I almost read exclusively MM stories also, except for the occasional Cozy Mystery.

Also, can I put up my selection to read now before the event starts, or do I have to wait until the exact day? I won't read it until then or after though.

message 10: by Erica, Quality Control Supervisor (new)

Erica | 4667 comments Mod
Yes you can choose books now. That is fine.

Roger - president of NBR United - (roger_presidentofnbrunited) | 1591 comments Mostly green cover? The Magpie Lord (A Charm of Magpies #1) by K.J. Charles

message 12: by Erica, Quality Control Supervisor (new)

Erica | 4667 comments Mod
Hmmm... I put it in at Tineye (https://labs.tineye.com/color/) and it comes up only about 22% green. But they assign over 52% to a "grey" color which looks awfully green to me so I'll say okay.

I second that - it's a good series

Megan | 161 comments Shadow Caster (The Nightwatch Academy #1) by Debbie Cassidy
Would you say this was OK. Tineye says its 30% one shade of green and another 30% another shade? Its quite dark to me but does have an obvious green so I'm just wondering if adding up to make over 50% is OK.

message 17: by Erica, Quality Control Supervisor (new)

Erica | 4667 comments Mod
Yes I think that is fine. I'm not going to be hugely fussy about the percentage.

Penumbra | 486 comments When the task states, 'A book published in December,' it doesn't matter what year, is that correct? December 2022 is okay?

message 20: by Erica, Quality Control Supervisor (new)

Erica | 4667 comments Mod
Any December is fine!

Penumbra | 486 comments I hope this is okay to post here. I think a thread that posts helpful suggestions on places to find books for the tasks would be nice.

Here's a helpful link for MM readers for Green Covers:

Mrs W Woodruff | 859 comments 2 questions of qualifying task

1- The Cowboy of Valentine Valley A Valentine Valley Novel by Emma Cane (2014-01-28) by Emma Cane - Does this cover satisfy 50% green?

2- Is a brush fire - does this satisfy a terrible act of nature?

message 24: by Erica, Quality Control Supervisor (new)

Erica | 4667 comments Mod
Yes to both!

message 25: by Mrs W (new)

Just confirming. A book can only be used for 1 task.

I just did. I'm so sorry - I must have looked at it early in the morning before I got to a computer and then it no longer had the red marking denoting a new post. Argh.

No, I'm so sorry. I had family visiting and then the day they left I got really sick. I'm fine now but wasn't too functional for a while. So sorry your posts fell through the cracks. I will do better!

NP at all. I am glad you are feeling better though.

message 38: by Ela (Mouse333) (new)

Ela (Mouse333) | 394 comments For the task 5. Read a book with a double vowel in the title, do the vowels have to be the same letter? For example, would Bound by Hatred count?

message 39: by Erica, Quality Control Supervisor (new)

Erica | 4667 comments Mod
Hmm. I should have stated that more clearly. I meant two of the same vowel in a row (like wood). Sorry!

Mrs W Woodruff | 859 comments Author initials found in the word emperor...Does it had to be both first and last initial or can 1 letter satisfy. Like Meghan Quinn..."M"

message 48: by Erica, Quality Control Supervisor (new)

Erica | 4667 comments Mod
Sorry - you need both first and last...

message 49: by Penumbra (new)

Penumbra | 486 comments Erica, what does this mean? "Read a book without a 3 in the page count."

Does it mean a book that doesn't end with a number '3' anywhere in its last page number?

message 50: by Erica, Quality Control Supervisor (new)

Erica | 4667 comments Mod
It means, say, 246 pages but not 236 pages. Or 172 pages but not 173 pages. Or 455 pages but not 355 pages.
