Sam’s first case after returning from her honeymoon is the murder of Carl Olivo, the owner of Carl’s Burgers and his seventeen-year old employee Daniel Alvarez who were found dead in the freezer. It wasn’t clear at first if they died because they ran out of oxygen or froze to death. Which do you think would be worse?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments Running out of oxygen. That is a terrible way to die. When you freeze to death you fall asleep and die a little more peacefully. At least that is what I understand from people who die in avalanches.

Although you know you are going to die in both cases.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments I think the sensation of being unable to breathe would be worse, if it happened before the freezing. It is the stuff of nightmares for me.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1803 comments Either way is awful, especially the knowing that one is going to die. That said, I agree with Sharon that dying from hypothermia is less painful and like going to sleep.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I've read that freezing to death is the preferred way to go. It is like going to sleep. They say that you feel warmer and slowly slip into sleep/death.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments Of the two choices, I would rather freeze to death. As Anita mentioned, that person starts to feel warmer and just goes to sleep.

Just the whole idea of not being able to breathe is frightening. Freezing to death certainly sounds like the better option.
