Terry O’Connor and medical examiner Lindsey McNamara are pursuing their attraction and when they finally have their first private get-together, he lets her know about his alcoholism. What did you make of her reaction? Was this the right time to tell her? Your opinion of him inviting her to an AA meeting? Your thoughts about them as a couple?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments Lindsey comes from a family that dealt with alcoholism. I would be a little put off myself. He was right to let her know at the start. He is in the early stages of recovery. It is a lot to expect another person to stick by him at this point.

At the AA meeting, Lindsey hears what Terry went through, what he lost, and how he owns his mistakes. I believe they will be good support for one another.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments I agree with Sharon. Lindsey saw that he was taking responsibility for his problems, not blaming someone else, and that showed her the contrast between Terry and her family members. He was certainly right to tell her of his alcoholism before they entered a relationship.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1808 comments Kudos to Terry for being upfront and honest about his alcoholism and for taking responsibility for his past actions.

Given Lindsey's past, I can. understand her reluctance to get involved and her need to think it over. It seems that both she and Terry are going into the relationship with their eyes and hearts open. I am rooting for them.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments By Terry being upfront and honest with Lindsey about his alcoholism, he actually gave this relationship a chance. I don't think she would have stayed around if he hadn't been honest with her at this point, I know I wouldn't have. Lindsey's reaction was a normal one, given she is the child of an alcoholic. I'm the child of an alcoholic and wouldn't date any guy who drank.

Terry is trying to reclaim his life and feels a real connection to Lindsey. Inviting her to an AA meeting shows he wants nothing hidden from her. I think they have a good chance to be a great couple.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I can't think of anything that hasn't been said. Terry was right to tell Lindsey about his alcoholism before she decided to go out with him. He's doing his best to straighten out his life and be honest with her. And I can see her being reluctant to date him, given her past with her family.

Ditto! It’s tricky in a new relationship to know exactly when to share something this personal. I think Terry knew he was going to pursue this woman and timed it perfectly. Really smart to take her to an AA meeting where he’s in a safe place to share even more. He gave her everything she needed to make a decision for herself.

Like Lauren, I’m rooting for them.
