Jan | 20724 comments Interactive Geocaching Treasure Hunt TAKE TWO
Ongoing

Geocaching is a type of treasure hunting hobby that uses GPS coordinates to help searchers find hidden "treasures" in their community, country or around the world. There are many kinds of Geocaching, but we are going to take the basic concept and work together to complete a given GPS coordinate (latitude/longitude) and upon completion, the treasure will be revealed.

Here's How It Works: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY since there is a small change to the Page Count Option

For the given coordinate (seen in the next post), you will claim ONE number which will correspond to your book in one of three ways.
✤ The series number OR
✤ The LAST number of the ORIGINAL publication year OR
✤ The LAST number of the total page count of the edition you are reading

Then Post a Comment Indicating:
✤ The number you are claiming and whether it is from the longitude OR latitude.
✤ Include the link to your book and how it fits by including either the series number, publication year or page count. I will then mark the number as claimed.
✤ Be sure to return and let us know when you have completed the book so your number can be marked as finished. You may then claim a new number.

IMPORTANT: It will be necessary that you check the current post below for claimed numbers BEFORE claiming a new number. We will not be able to rely on the previous post for "what's next". I will try to stay on top of updating but please be patient as we progress.

Let's start the hunt!

Jan | 20724 comments Current Coordinates

Our game is "on hold" for a bit. We will announce when new coordinates get posted!

THE TREASURE: When all the numbers are claimed and marked as finished, the treasure will be revealed. We will then start another hunt with new coordinates.

♞ Pat Gent Longitude 2

City of the Dead
published ~ 2.8.2022

It's #37 in the series, so that's a question I should ask. If it's a double digit series number, do we use the last digit of that number or are only single digit series numbers allowed for play?

Good question about series. We would use the last number of double digit series.

Sorry your post didn't go up previously Pat. And just for clarification (even though it doesn't matter with your pick) , we are not counting stand-alone books for 0. Just want to make sure everyone understands that...lol.

LOL. I knew that, but a standalone isn't part of a series, so it would be the 0 book for ANY series. LOL.
