Jim, I'm so sorry. I thought I was responding to someone else. That's totally my mistake, and I apologize. I hope you'll reconsider leaving and forgive my carelessness.

Scout, you have no need to apologise for anything. We come on the political forums to express our views. Sure, some discussions get heated, but we're all human, so, on occasion, passions inevitably arise.

However, we're a close-knit group and Nik is on hand to ensure things remain civilised. And, as adults, with a bit of life experience, we don't need to start crying and feeling victimised if we don't like what others say.

Jim, I'm genuinely sorry to see you go. I think you're a great bloke, who's lived (and continues to live) an incredible life. And I thoroughly enjoy reading your insightful posts.

However, I've noticed that you've been happy to dish out thinly veiled attacks of this group's regular contributors on your blog. That is fine but, if you're honest with yourself, the reason you've done this and are now leaving isn't because you don't like people prolifically posting or threads becoming argumentative, it's because you can't tolerate strongly-held opposing views. I advise you to reflect upon this and rectify it.

Regardless of whether you agree with me or not, I wish you all the best for the future. Like I said, you're clearly a smashing bloke, and highly intelligent too. And I thank you for recommending Mark Twain to me.
