David Estes (davidestesbooks) | 1040 comments Great book!! Love how Marissa Meyer transforms another tried and true fairytale into a unique story and then melds all the separate stories together :)

Brianna | 9 comments I need to read this, but I read Cinder ages ago. Should I reread Cinder first?

Hmm...I don't think it's totally necessary as long as you remember the basic plot from Cinder. Scarlet mostly follows Scarlet's story, but then Cinder joins in part of the way through and the stories converge.
And you can always check out the Recaptains' synopsis of Cinder as a refresher: http://recaptains.blogspot.nl/2013/02...

Agreed! I tend to dislike retellings, but I love this one because it's so unique - it doesn't feel like a retelling.

No prob - I love that site! So helpful!

Miranda (readiculousreader) I just finished this book last night, and I loved it! I thought it was much better than Cinder. There was a lot of world-building in that book and in Scarlet we dove more into the story. Plus I like the characters of Scarlet and Wolf better. I found myself cracking up at times. I was worried Cinder wasn't really going to be in it, but I'm glad it turned out to show multiple points of view. I think it added more to the story. Now I can't wait to read Cress! I hope Meyer keeps doing a good job of blending all of the characters together since she's adding more.

David Estes (davidestesbooks) | 1040 comments I completely agree, Miranda! The multiple POVs added so much and allowed us to see the world from unique angles :) Hope you enjoy Cress just as much!!

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 196 comments I'll be picking this up from the library in a couple weeks... in early May haha. Late to the party.

David Estes (davidestesbooks) | 1040 comments Never too late! We'll be here waiting :)

I'll for sure come back and share thoughts. I absolutely loved Cinder.
