Grace is inheriting land in Scotland from her cruel great-uncle who disapproved of her father’s marriage to her mother. Her sisters received millions which they donated. Grace plans to sell the land saying she’ll never keep it because of the way he disrespected her parents. Are their decisions rational or a bit impulsive? Thoughts? Have you noticed a similar theme running through some of the prior books?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I don't get it, although the sisters appear to be wealthy. They should keep a nest egg to fall back on it necessary. I do understand that they want to stay away from anything the nasty old guy gives them. He should have done something when her parents were alive.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments Giving away the land or money isn't going to matter to the girl's great-uncle. What would he care? He's dead. Yes, they didn't like him because of the way he treated their parents, but giving away the money is dumb.

I'll have to agree. It's one thing to donate the land for conservation...but to give away every penny of millions just because their uncle was a mean spirited old man is a bit dumb. As y'all said, it doesn't change a thing. Give some to charity and keep some.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I didn't agree with their decisions, but it was the right choice for them. They were profoundly affected by this great-uncle who turned his back on them when their father died and they really needed help.

Jessica | 156 comments Yea I thought it was funny that they thought they were hurting him somehow. No matter what you believe religiously, we can agree that the uncle no longer has the cares of this world. So they were only hurting themselves. I would have happily used the money to set myself up with a project or a business of some kind.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I agree, Jessica! I guess we are just not as noble as Garwood and the sisters.
