In the end, Grace donates Glen MacKenna to the National Trust for Scotland meaning the land will be preserved and protected from development. She renames it Glen Leah MacKenna. What is the significance of the new name and why did she choose it?

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments She named the property after her mother. This was because of the way her great uncle treated her mother.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I loved that she names the property after her mother. It is the final FU to her uncle.

I liked that she did it for her mother and it's a way of sticking it to her uncle. At the same time, her mother kept her from pursuing a music career and laid a guilt trip on her. I know it's beneficial in the end and that it was for her own good but it messed with Isabel's head and may her doubt her own worth imo.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments Naming the preserve for her mother was what I expected Isabel to do as a final up yours to the uncle.

Jessica | 156 comments Oh I missed that the preserve was named after her mother. Now I dislike the book even more.
