ABOUT THE BOOK:
The book was a YA fantasy novel. I think it had a little bit of romance in it. The way the world in the book works is that everybody was born into a tribe of sorts of birds. There were peacock, doves and ravens I believe. The peacocks were like royals. The ravens were stigmatized about from all the other bird people. I believe different bird people had different powers? not sure
MIGHT BE A SPOILER:
There is also this weird plague that would kill people that are contagious. The only people that are immune are the ravens. So when there was an outbreak the ravens would come and get the corpses. In the book's culture the ravens are the cause of the plague. It might be about angering gods or whatever. The ravens would charge for removing the bodies. I specifically remember if the other bird people don't pay as much as the ravens hoped for, they would do a dance ( :0 ) To signify that they won't do their services.
DEFINITELY A SPOILER:
I believe the raven people found the prince of something. He paid them to go with them. They went to a capital city. I might have been in a valley (not sure). Went past a gate. The way the city was deeper and/or farther inland the more regulated it was. Remember them running away from the guards. Childhood best friend sacrifice himself for the prince as a stand in. They cut down a bridge and CB fell down instead of Prince
FORMATING
This is the most important thing in the book for me to remember. It looks a lot like the six of crows cover (that is actually how I got mixed up and read crooked kingdom because I thought it was the second book of this one). I know there was a girl. I think her hands were up in the sky. She might have had ravens covering her whole body (sorry to say .... not sure). There was a map!! And a list of different types of birds.
