Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I didn't care for this story, mostly because I thought the character of Grace/Isabel was ridiculous. I rolled my eyes at her being compared to a Greek Goddess. I rolled my eyes at her singing going viral and everyone just loving her. I rolled my eyes at her spacing out while walking around the city and not knowing where she ended up. My eyes were almost permanently crossed when she sat at the police station being questioned for hours and never told anyone that she had been shot. We weren't even 100 pages into the story.

Michael wasn't must better. IMO, he was just a copy of the last few heroes in this series. He's a superstar at his various jobs and needs to protect the heroine at all costs. He wants her but warns her that he will not commit. Of course, somewhere around page 300, he suddenly realizes her loves her. Did Julie Garwood really write this?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I thought the story was Okay. There are some good moments, but more average. It was more a comedy with a little suspense than a romantic suspense imo. It is sad that Garwood used so many duplicate characters and scenarios in this series. She is a good writer, it is a shame she ends her career with this one.

I like a little more realism in my stories. I'm ready to move on to the next series.

I enjoyed this one - mostly for the humor! I laughed out loud at the driving scenes. Yes, they're over the top & a bit ridiculous...but they made me laugh when I needed to laugh. I actually like Isabel and Michael even though no one can be as beautiful as she! lol I just let it go over my head and read it for what it is. It's a repetitive series...we've learned that. I have to think Garwood found a formula that worked for her and stuck with it.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Michael is a love em and leave em type and Isabel was one of Garwood's more quirky heroines. She didn't do what others wanted her to do and that was sometimes good and sometimes bad, but it was all Isabel. I loved this story as much this time around and I did when I first read it. I am so sad that this was Garwood's last book. I can see seeds for other books throughout and I'm so sad she didn't get to write them.

Jessica | 156 comments I enjoyed this series overall but I am glad that it's done. The best part of this particular book was reading the questions and everybody's responses. I will have to look at the new series coming up and see if they interest me. Hopefully I will see some of you there!

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments The discussions are the best part of reading a series. I can't tell you the number of times I'm reading a book and think I can't wait to discuss a point then realize no one else is reading that book with me.
