I am new to this group so was browsing old posts. So did anyone read this series? I was surprised to find no comments on this post.

This is one of my all time favorites and I would love to discuss this one.

Yea, surprisingly no one commented here. But we had quite a discussion about this book somewhere else (I can't remember where, maybe my update of the book.)
I loved the first book but the age of the protagonist, Jorg, really bothered me, other than that I really enjoyed the series and will be reading the next parts soon.

PS: Even though Dr. Mark Lawrence is my friend, I'm still being honest when I say I truly loved the series.

Firstly, barring the age, I LOVED Jorg's character. Definitely one of the best characters ever created for a fantasy franchise. Eve the age factor kinda begins to make sense when you read the next two books. You should definitely complete the series. The second and the third book are way better than The Prince of Thorns.

Mark is a friend of mine too. I have talked to him about the books a couple of times :)
