I'm looking forward to this one. Just by looking at the front cover I'm already very curious. I don't know if it's the same everywhere, but at Amazon.ca you can obtain the first 5 chapters for free. So if you're on the fence about trying this book, but would like to give it a try to see if they like it first, that's a great way to get a taste for it:)
I've started reading Cinder and I've got to say I'm really enjoying it so far. I didn't know what to expect at first, and I still don't know what to expect haha, but I'm enjoying the ride!

I agree Kay. It would make a great movie. It would also be a really good Anime. Good luck with reading and I hope you catch up on your sleep :)

I would definitely go to that movie! I wonder what Tim Burton would do with it haha ;)
It's strange to hear you say that you'll need weeks to finish a book, Kay! Usually it takes you 2-3 days. I hope the teething eases, soon, and you can get some sleep!

It's great to see that you're "back", Kay! I loved the book, too. Looking forward to talking about it when everyone is done!
Yay, Kay! You got sleep! Gald you got to finish it :D I'm really looking forward to talking about this one, too!
I'm very excited that May is here because I absolutely LOVED "Cinder" and would be happy to talk about it here.
I found that there were some parts of it that were somewhat predictable, but it didn't even matter because I wanted to see how they would play out.
The entire book was hugely creative and even though I'm not normally a fan of books that cross too far from fantasy into the more tech-style side of sci-fi, this kept me completely fascinated the whole time.
It also managed to capture the whole "Cinderella" theme without ever getting too schmaltzy, which I hugely appreciated. I'm next on the waiting list for the next book in this series, "Scarlet", at my local library :)

"Cinder" was a great book! I found the author did a good job with all of her characters. I was surprised at many part of the book.
*Spoiler Alert*
I wasn't expecting Peony to die! I was in complete disbelief with Cinder the whole way. Which is what I also liked about the book. I could really empathize with Cinder, who I thought was both a strong and powerful character. I'm really looking forward to reading Scarlet :D

Heartbreaking.
I agree! My first instinct was to go into denial. The author sure didn't hold back when it came to following through with how bad the world/its people could be!
I was so mad when the beautiful gloves were destroyed too (ok, not quite as powerful as Peony dying, but I can admit that I am a shallow person, at times LOL)

Exactly! I knew that it had to happen and I was still completely horrified when it did!

If you liked Cinder you might like Scarlet (Book 2 in the Lunar Chronicles). Cinder's in it :)

Ya that was really, really bad! And then what Kai said to her...that Cinder was more painful to look at than Queen Levena!

Looking forward to reading it and discussing it with everybody!
