Lucas visited people he respected in the Indian community and was surprised to discover the widespread lack of sympathy for the victims and some level of acceptance of the mission of the Crows. Should he have been surprised? Did you understand why the Native community felt thus way? Your thoughts on the situation?

Susan (cruelshoes) | 158 comments I am not surprised that the Native community has felt this way. They have been kicked around long enough. I am surprised that Lucas is shocked by this situation.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I'm not surprised that Lucas expected a different response. Lucas anticipated outrage without digging deep into the men killed. The early people murdered committed all kinds of atrocities on the Natives. Naturally, they wanted revenge, and law enforcement was part of the problem instead of the solution.
