Hi, I'm Katie from Books and Things on Booktube, and I have 45 books on my physical TBR, which is a few more than I'd like.

Tenzin (ashappyasiget) | 1 comments Hi, Tenzin here. I've 8 books on my physical trb.
I plan to read maybe three of it this month. Let's see how it goes 😁

Thaizi Ono (thaizi_ono) | 13 comments Hello, my name is Thaizi Ono from Brazil.

I have A LOT of books on my TBR but I chose three books for this readathon that are in my shelf for ages:

1) Agatha Christie: A Biography by Janet Morgan
2) Educated: a memoir by Tara Westover
3) The Choice by Edith Eva Eger

In April, I will also participate on Ros' April reading event - reading nonfiction about people, it will be a good Readathon blend.

Sarah Hey everyone! My name is Sarah!

I have a huge TBR list. I think I am going to focus on my physical TBR. I'm not entirely sure which ones I will read, but I am going to focus on only reading books I own that I have not read yet. I am going to try to read six to eight books.

Matthew (bringmeaslab) | 4 comments Hi, My name's Matt. I'm in Omaha, Nebraska. I'd already planned to do some TBR clearing this year and read at least 24 books that were on my physical TBR as of Dec 31, 2023 by Dec 31, 2024--so this is a great read-a-thon theme for me! (I just counted my current physical TBR, and I have 71.)

I've been reading about 3 print books per month, which is a good pace for me, but I'm going to bump that up a little and try to do 6 in April, one for each challenge. I'm going to cheat a bit on the long book one and have a book I already started count for that (I expect I'll be about halfway through it by the start of April), but I'm already looking through my shelves for the books to count for the 5 others.

Bethany White | 1 comments My name is Beth. I have over 100 books on my physical TBR shelf. I would like to at least get that number below 100.

message 7: by Alana (new)

Alana Lentz | 3 comments Hello, my name is Lana. I am in Mississippi. I currently have 131 books on my TBR bookcase (and in the floor beside it). This is not nearly the number of unread books that I want to read in my home (there are more scattered about). I have six children, ages 15 to 6, who are all readers. They are continually wanting me to read something they have read, thereby adding to my extensive TBR.

Over the last year, we took several trips and visited some wonderful used bookstores. We came home from summer vacation with 56 new titles. My physical TBR really exploded in the last year, so I am looking forward to this challenge to help me possibly choose books I wouldn’t necessarily choose to read.

I plan to read at least 6 - one for each challenge. I’m currently averaging 7 books a month, so I think that may be doable.

message 8: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Bauer | 7 comments Hi, I'm Andrea in Seattle. I'm not sure which books I'll pick, but I know they will be a mix of fiction and nonfiction. Several books by the Russian science fiction authors Boris and Arkady Strugatsky are some of the oldest books on my TBR. There There by Tommy Orange and Hum if You Don't Know the Words by Bianca Marais are two of my newest. Stalin by Leon Trotsky and Capital in the 21st Century by Thomas Picketty are two of my longest. Owl by William Service and Lois the Witch by Elizabeth Gaskell are two of the shortest. I may combine prompts at first before I'm sure how many books I can get through.

message 9: by Teri-K (last edited Mar 14, 2024 12:28PM) (new)

Teri-K Hello, everyone. I have 67 books on my tbr, and by the end of the year I hope to get it down to about 35, which is doable. Except I keep checking books out from the library and getting Inter Library Loans or picking more up from the thrift stores around here. lol So we shall see.

I'm currently not working and read a lot, so I hope to read at least 8 books from my tbr in April. I don't know which they'll be yet. I'm doing a dive into Ancient Lit, but read lots of other things, too.

I'm looking forward to this readathon to propel me forward on my tbr a bit!

thepetitereader | 2 comments Hi all, I'm Zsuzsi (aka The Petite Reader on YT), and I have about 400 books on my TBR...I know this sounds crazy but this includes what I logged to read on goodreads (my wishes :) ), my kindle, my physical and audio TBR. I have not selected the individual books yet, but know the genres I will pick. For sure there will be some fantasy, lit and historical fiction, aaaand I really want to read something regency era. As I am a mercurial reader, chaos will 100% ensue!!

message 11: by Gaby (new)

Gaby (gabyvdl) | 11 comments Hi, I'm Gaby from Germany. There are currently 205 books on my Want to read list on goodreads. These are books that I have on my shelves or on my kindle. My goal is to read at least six of them.

message 12: by Becky (new)

Becky (pinkiebear) | 2 comments Hello everyone, I'm Becky from Ireland. I'll be focusing on my physical tbr for this readathon which is 68 books. I'm hoping to get that down to 65 during this readathon.

Since the beginning of the year, I've been distracted by new releases and book prizes, e.g., the Womens Prize and the International Booke, and keep requesting books from my library to the neglect of my tbr. So hopefully this readathon will help me shift my focus and get excited about the books I already own again.

message 13: by Megan (new)

Megan | 11 comments Hello, I'm Megan. I have a total of 117 books on my TBR on Goodreads, 33 of which are on my physical TBR. I will be focusing on my physical TBR for this readathon. I'm hoping to read at least 6 books, one for each challenge, and to finish some of the series that I have not finished yet.

message 14: by Osian (last edited Apr 01, 2024 12:49AM) (new)

Osian | 8 comments Hi! I'm Osian from Wales and I usually get through 2-3 print books a month, but my goal this April is to read at least 5 books of varying style and era, as well as making sure that each one fits one of the optional challenges. My TBR has roughly 70 books and it's always growing, so I'd love to tackle it head-on!

message 15: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn (cam00105) | 8 comments Hey everyone! I'm Carolyn, I have an embarrassingly high number of unread books on my TBR shelves. While I love having that variety of choices since I am a mood reader, it has felt overwhelming for awhile now so I am very excited to participate in this Clear out readathon! I haven't picked everything I am going to read but I do want to read Little Dorrit finally, and several things that have been on my TBR for a long while now. I would also specifically like to get to at least one kindle read this month since that is the format that gets neglected the most from my TBR books. It is so fun reading everyone's comments about this readathon, Good Luck Everyone!

message 16: by Anja (new)

Anja (pippimonster) | 7 comments Hello from Oregon! I am glad you are repeating this challenge, as I read some great books in the previous TBR challenge that I had been putting off for ages. Happy reading everyone 🍓
