but I thought the book cover is a bit mismatched, I would prefer a medical/hospital backdrop and a spunkier lady to match Kate's competitiveness.
Just nitpicking, don't mind me :) I very much enjoyed learning about tuberculosis,
plus, strong women from the past never fail to inspire me.
5 stars.

Kate frustrated me as well, Cassidy! I was so mad at her for pushing amazing Trevor away. :/

To start off...
How many of this authors book have you read and do you have a favorite?
Did you like the medical details or was it too much info. for anyone?

I liked the medical details! It really helped me understand better what Kate and Trevor were fighting against.

I found the medical details and enjoyed learning more about TB and the search for a cure. I found that it was just enough info, without overdoing it.

I loved the medical details. It wasn't overdone, but it wasn't vague, which I really appreciated. I love that Camden chooses topics that aren't glamorous, but real and gritty.

The only one of hers I haven't read is "Into the Whirlwind", and it's waiting in my physical TBR stack for one of those really-needy days.
My least favorite is "Lady of Bolton Hill", mostly because parts of it seemed underdeveloped. Quite forgivable in a debut, especially one I got free.
My favorite is her newest, "Beyond All Dreams"; 2nd, "Rose of Winslow Street", 3rd, tie, this one and "Against the Tide".

I enjoyed the medical details. I thought it was enough to let you know what they were facing without overwhelming you. I was surprised that Trevor had had tuberculosis, especially that he'd had it twice! It did explain his actions though.
I have to admit, I thought the reason he was sent away from Scotland and his father was a little anti-climatic. It seemed like it was this deep dark secret & he was so ashamed of it. But to me it didn't seem that bad. And his father didn't seem to bad either once they started working on their relationship. I do realize though that back in those times to be an illegitimate son/child was a bad thing. Also I did remind myself that he was viewing it from the hurt of a 13(?) year old's point of view. One that had already been through a lot.

Goodreads Summary:
n the shadow of the nation's capital, Kate Livingston holds a respectable position as a government statistician when she encounters a rival from her past, the insufferable Trevor McDonough. A Harvard-trained physician, Trevor never showed the tiniest flicker of interest in Kate, and she's bewildered at the way he suddenly seeks her out. Surprising even herself, Kate agrees to Trevor's entirely unexpected and risky proposal to work side-by-side with him in his quest to rid the world of tuberculosis, a contagious and deadly disease.
As Kate begins to unlock the mysteries of Trevor's past, she realizes there is much more to him than she could have imagined. His hidden depths may fascinate her, but his most closely guarded secrets and a shadowy enemy lurking in the background carry a serious threat to their future.
When the truth of the past comes out, threatening to destroy everything they hold dear, how will Trevor and Kate ever overcome all that stands in their way?
Chime in if you think you'll be joining in on the discussion! I'm nearly halfway through and enjoying it.
