Charlotte | 38 comments I just read Adventure Acre, by Joan Harland, published in the UK in 1965 by Constable Young Books as one of their "Out and About Books." There is another "Out and About Book" on the back jacket flap--Blackbirds' Barn, by Delia Huddy, and I would very much like to see a complete list of these books. I had no luck and was wondering if any of you all had ever heard or seen of these....

Michael Fitzgerald | 45 comments WorldCat comes up with a total of eight:

King Sam
Martin Rides the Moor
Canoe Boy
Blackbirds' Barn
Mile-a-Minute Ernie
Houseboat Johnnie
The Greatest Goal
Adventure Acre

I can only come up with one more:

Mystery On Minnamurra by Gordon Benjamin.

GR links for those in Michael's message:

King Sam
Martin Rides the Moor
Canoe boy
Blackbirds' barn
Mile-a-Minute Ernie
HOUSEBOAT JOHNNIE
Greatest Goal
Adventure acre

Unfortunately the British Library website has suffered a cyber attack and there is only a temporary site available. The BL Explore catalogue could give a more complete list.

This isn't quite an answer to your question but I'd suggest searching for Constable Young Books rather than Out and About Books. You might find that fruitful. Its publisher, Grace Hogarth, isn't as well-known as she ought to be. A text search on Open Library turns up a lot of material.
