The social media attack is much more than online vitriol. People are actually threatening Gwen and her children’s lives. Are you aware of what doxxing means? Could you ever imagine it could be this organized and this bad?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Social media has no relevance whatsoever to me. I'm vaguely aware that doxxing is a thing. It is really hard to believe it could be as bad as portrayed here, especially against children. I realize that is pretty naive, but I would have simply dumped all the accounts and ignored it all.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments People are being threatened all of the time because of something they said or something they stand for. They find it easy to confront someone because they're not doing it face to face. Hate groups feed on this kind of stuff. In the case of Gina Royal, they would have said the judge was paid off, the jury was rigged, or some BS, then spread their lies and conspiracy theories as we see everyday. This leads to nuts who go out and try to find Gina and her kids so they can spread the word.

Doxxing is real and the groups involved are organized and armed. Judges have been murdered (the latest one in Baltimore) and they’ve taken to doing something called SWATTING, making 9-1-1 calls that elevate the situation to involving SWAT teams. We’ve a serious problem in the country today and I’m amazed what people who seem so normal are willing to do these days. They don’t look crazy on the outside.

You might not be part of social media but you’ve gotta pay attention to its impact if you’re a public figure on the wrong side of public opinion.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments I have been vaguely aware of these awful things done on social media, which often spill out into group violence and/or protests. I had no idea that people put so much time and energy into their vitriolic attacks and attempts to find their victims.
