What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I saw this book on Dawson's Creek season 6 episode 15. I have no idea what it's about. I was wondering if anyone recognizes it. The episode aired in 2003. So it might be from the early 2000s.

I don't know if there are any rules in this group about this kind of request (as opposed to asking about a book based on its content, which is what people are usually asking about), but you need to change your header to give more information or the mods will lock your post. (You can edit the header in the desktop website version of Goodreads, but not the mobile website or the app.) Maybe something like:
YA or adult novel seen on TV in early 2000s, purple and black cover with white font, content unknown

I'm assuming the big font is the title and the small font is the author. If I'm correct, does it look like there's maybe a small word at the end of the author's name? Maybe the author is a Jr.? That could help narrow down the search somewhat.
