DRAMATIC DICKENS! Programme of events

Here is the thread which details all the exciting events in our Dramatic Dickens! season, which is now set to run all year! Right up to our annual end of year turnover read.

All these reads, and a few more too are on our shelves, but for everyone's convenience it might be nice to have a programme, so you can pick and choose (and hopefully join in them all!) We have some fantastic treats coming up led by excellent hosts 😊

Tickets for the first two events are "sold out" right now, but you can easily see a repeat performance and add an encore by visiting the threads 😊

I'm really excited by all the theatrical Dickensians! events coming up, and hope you are too!😍🎉✨

😍😂 We have some amazing actors, directors and all-round contributors in our theatre troupe! It promises to be a lot of fun😊

I'm so glad this "programme" is being noticed! It's tricky to get an overall idea from a group's bookshelves.

Connie G (connie_g) | 1029 comments You've planned a wonderful "Programme of Events," Jean! It's great to learn about this theatrical side of Dickens.

It's very much a joint effort ... I just coordinate it and am as excited as everyone! 😁

Kathleen | 489 comments This is a wonderful plan, Jean, and I agree with Lee that these carefully developed plans create something like, and sometimes better than, a college course!

Sue | 1140 comments Quite a program ahead. I just downloaded Mary Barton which was already on my kindle. I have read NN so will wait and see as to whether I will join in with that or try something else, such as one of the Master Humphrey connected books. Though a Dickensians NN would likely be different from my prior read.

message 12: by Kathleen (new)

Kathleen | 241 comments I’m very much looking forward to rereading NN starting in mid September.

I'm really happy to see the enthusiasm here. And you can still squeeze in our current read of The Village Coquettes: An Operatic Burletta In Two Acts even with just one day to go as it's very short 😊

Remember that this thread is still the best way to get exact dates for the second half of our "Dramatic Dickens!" season. There's a message about our current read in Mrs. Dickens's Parlour too!

Kelly (sunny_reader_girl) | 88 comments I am very much looking forward to the Christmas read and the schedule of events for 2025! Discovering this group was one of my best gifts of 2024. ❤️
