Hi Librarians:

We’ve recently made a change where ASINs can no longer be removed from book records by any member (including Goodreads employees). This is because removal of an ASIN can lead to duplicate editions being imported into the Goodreads catalog. Going forward, if an ASIN is on the incorrect record Librarians should instead change the book’s metadata to reflect that associated with the ASIN, and then create a new edition or book record for the edition not associated with that ASIN. Employees will continue to have the ability to update or move ISBNs on book records.

Please keep in mind that as mentioned in this past announcement Goodreads assigns an ASIN to all editions (Kindle, print and other), even if one is not visible on Amazon.
