2015 Reading Challenge [Closed] discussion

I picked this up because I really enjoyed the author's previous book, Vicious. This book was, in my opinion, not quite as gripping as Vicious was, but I think that might be because it is the first in a series?

Also, Vicious was about supervillains, which is kind of a weakness of mine, and ADSoM is a dark fantasy novel. Both good topics, but I tend to prefer supervillains over almost anything else. Not to say that ADSoM is not good, because it definitely was. Just be aware that it is the first book and therefore will leave you hanging until the next one is out. :)

I read Vicious last year, enjoyed the idea but not really how it's told. Because of this I'm reluctant to read A Darker Shade, even if it seems interesting.
