If you are willing to place one of your May reading choices in the hands of another person, leave a comment here with at least five books and no more than ten from your TBR shelf. Participants need to leave comments no later than April 25th.

Here's how it will work:
Sophia will match people up and leave a comment with a list of who will choose for whom.
When you see the person you are to pick for, then just look at their list in the above comments and leave a new comment with their name and the book you chose for them by April 30th.

You also need to watch and see what book your person chose from your list for you.
You have the rest of the month to read the book.

So if this sounds like something you would like to do, just comment below leaving your name and list of book choices for someone to pick your May book.

Howdy, everyone! I'm glad you could join in for this month.

I apologize for getting out the picks two days late. I'd say I had a valid reason, but no, poor memory only.

I have randomly drawn names from those who submitted a list of books and will put those just below.

For those who are new to this fun activity, here is what you do next:
1. Find your name in the left hand column and then go to the right hand column to see whose name you drew.
2. Go back up in the discussion thread and find that person's list. Choose a book from that list. And, then make a comment to that person of what book you chose for them. Do this by April 30th, please.
3. Watch for the person who drew your name to post their pick from your booklist.
4. Start your books on or after May 1st and feel free to come back and leave a comment of what you thought of the book.
If you want to discuss as you're reading, you can comment on your impressions as you go. Just make sure to mark any spoilery comments at the beginning of your comment.

Craftyhj, love your theme list!

I'm tempted to choose from ones I know from your list, but I'm going with a new one to me so I can see what you think. I'm sending you on a trip to Yemen in Elin's Two Components: A modern Pride & Prejudice action-adventure

Have a fun reading trip, Heather!

Kirk (goodreadscomkirkc) | 265 comments Hi Sam, I enjoyed reading Miss Eleanor Tilney and hope you will as well...or at least it will be off your TBR pile!!!!!! :)

message 13: by Craftyhj (new)

Craftyhj | 348 comments Thanks for the pick Sophia - I look forward to reading Two Components.

You had a really interesting blend to choose from. It looks like we are up to the same point in the dragons series so I was tempted by that but I think I will pick Mistaken Premise : A Pride and Prejudice Variation. I look forward to seeing your review as it has sat in my TBR forever too.

Hi Anji!
You can't go wrong with Amy D'Orazio. So I pick A Lady's Reputation for you. Enjoy!

abmom | 71 comments Kirk, except for the first one I've read the others in your list and enjoyed them, which makes my choice difficult but I think I'll go with Christmas at Blackthorn Manor for you. Hope you'll enjoy it.

Craftyhj | 348 comments I have finished mine, thanks for the pick Sophia. Two Components: A modern Pride & Prejudice action-adventure by our own Elin Eriksen.

This was a solid 3.5* from me. I liked it but I can't say that I
loved it.

I think I may pick another from my "not set in England" list now.

Checking in with my enthusiastic results.

Thank you, Heather, for picking Mistaken Premises. Whew, that was one high angst, long-laid out piece. It got dark in the end with physical abuse by a crazy controlling villain to Elizabeth, but there was fair warning so I was expecting it.

But, I also went right on reading and finished the Jane quotes book, If I Loved You Less, and A Pinch of Salt from my list. I was always excited when many folks here were doing that so I feel great triumph to join the ranks.

Craftyhj | 348 comments Well done Sophia - excellent reading! I really must read Mistaken Premises one day. You have inspired me.

Anji | 167 comments I think I forgot to pop back and report on my book for this month. Sam chose A Lady's Reputation by Amy D'Orazio for me. In the end, I decided to listen to the audio version so that I could count it in for my Audiobooks Tropes Challenge. It fits nicely into the Bad Bingley category. Definitely had a lot of fun with this and the narrator was a new one to me, Lillian Rachel. I thought she was pretty good and you’ve got to love Lord Saye!

Sam H. | 434 comments I finished mine by the skin of my teeth. I had to skim the last 30% or make it a dnf.
while interestingly written it was literally northanger abbey from the young Tilney's pov.

Glad I got it finished!
