Play Book Tag discussion

Mention a bookshop and I get all tingly inside. I'm sure a lot of you do too. While it would be a dream to spend my day in a bookshop, I know I'm not one to open & run one as a business. However, it was good reading about someone's achieving their dream of owning a bookshop.

The novel was a very easy read in terms of language and content. It was a very warm slice of life. These are normal people living. They are sad. They are happy. They are in between. They interact with each and they learn from each other. There was a lot of learning done (sometimes it felt a bit much and a bit too pointed) and a lot of nodding from me. I did find though that the jumps between perspectives and times (always forward but you just don't know how much exactly) made the story feel disjointed to me. All in all, I'd say that it's actually a very good novel but not one for me; or at least, not one for me right at this moment. It is in the back of my mind to revisit one day; I don't know when that right time will be but we'll see.
