Mary Catelli | 50 comments Remember the 2014 April's Fool on goodreads -- the "lost" Jane Austen work Mirth and Mischief?

At the time, I thought that actually, it sounded kinda neat, but on reflection, I'm not sure that sounds like an Austen novel. Especially when you consider that "mischief" had (I think) a considerably nastier edge at the time. Mind you, she could do quite nasty, as in Love and Freindship, but not exactly mischievous types.

Could Jane Austen have written a Mirth and Mischief? If she did, what would it have been like?

Samanta (almacubana) | 61 comments I think that, if she did write that kind of story, the protagonists would be characters like Lydia Bennet and the likes of her.

Mary Catelli | 50 comments I'm not sure she could have made a novel out of Lydia. She did an admirable job with Laura, but Love and Freindship was much, much shorter.
