The Procrastinators Book Club discussion

RULES
✧ Members will be broken out into up to 3-5 separate teams (or go solo) before the start date (May 1st). You will work together to complete a series of tasks together and complete as many of them as you wish.
✧ Books must be read and reviewed from May 1st through June 30th. Any books or audiobooks started before May 1st or finished after June 30th will not count.
✧ If you read an Audiobook version of a book convert the hours to pages using this site: https://alamantus.itch.io/time-to-page or use the print equivalent on Goodreads.
✧ Graphic/Manga novels are accepted but will only count for half of the listed page count. They have to be on the Goodreads database. (view spoiler)
✧ You must post at least 3 status updates OR a review. It doesn't have to be super detailed but try to not just say "this was good" for the book to count.
✧ For prompts: if it doesn't fit, it doesn't fit, and it will not count.
✧ Minimum Lengths:
• Books: 150 pages
• Graphic Novels: 200 pages (halved=100 pages)
• Audiobooks: 150 pages (use GR print equivalent length)

POINT SYSTEM
+1 point for every book that has been read and reviewed that correlates with a category
+2 points for participating in a buddy read (must take place in the group)
+3 for one completed category
+4 points for reading/participating in a group read (must take place in the group)
+5 points for every 1,000 pages read

Note 1: Mods keep track of all points in a shared Google Sheets spread to keep everything as organized as possible.
Note 2: You must actively participate in a buddy or group read for the points to count. Lack of participation means no points! This means commenting your updates in the designated thread for that book.

Masquerade
1. Read a book where a main character pretends to be someone else
2. Read a book with a dress on the cover
3. Read a book that was translated
4. Read an own-voices book
5. Read a book that has a redesigned cover

Decades Dance
1. Read a book set in the 20th century (the 1900s)
2. Read the first book listed when you sort your TBR by date added, descending
3. Read a book with a blue cover
4. Read a book written by an author who has died
5. Read a historical fiction book

Goth Prom
1. Read a paranormal romance
2. Read a book set or published in the 1800s
3. Read a banned book
4. Read a book with a black cover

1. Read a fairytale retelling
2. Read a book about royalty
3. Read a book written by an author from a country you’ve never been to
4. Read a book about magic

I'm have a proper look at tasks and my tbr, figure out some ideas tonight in case any may want buddy read☺️

But must admit, most the time I just mood read and see where they fit after. Usually try to spread out across categories for those extra points for completing a section.

I'm reading A Touch of Darkness starting now, I think it can fit into either carnival or masquerade, but I'm not too sure.

For masquerade it could be #3 or #5.

It's early days so we don't have any we majority locking in yet, but whichever feels are more difficult categories are best to use for first.

Hey friends! Does the tracking spreadsheet say "view only" for anyone else and won't allow edits? Mine randomly shifted to that today, which I was confused by since I have logged one of my books in it already. Thought I'd ask if anyone else is having that problem before asking the mods just to get a headcount.
